✨ Upcoming notable astrology
Just in time for today’s New Moon, but first, I want to back up to what happened yesterday. CORRECTIONS: I completely deleted a whole day’s astrology by accident and my forecast was off by an entire day in the email. This has been corrected. I’ve been experimenting with batching my work as it increases, and clearly, my QA process needs another step - Erin, 9/4/24.

At 8:17 AM PT yesterday, Uranus stationed retrograde at 27°15’ of Taurus and will travel back to 23°15’ of Taurus, where it will station direct on Jan. 30, 2025. Of course, the outer planets are retrograde about as much of the time they are direct, so there is no significant news there, but it does let us know that retrograde Uranus is moving back towards an exact conjunction with the fixed star Algol once more. Technically, it never separated very far and had already spent a lot of time there before Mars came by in July last month, so there is nothing to fret about, but I am interested to see what plays out over the rest of the year.
You may remember the fever pitch of activity in July when Mars joined Uranus, and we had an assassination attempt on a former president of the United States. Mars has moved on, and the next time it makes an aspect to Uranus, it will give a helping hand via sextile from the sign of Cancer on October 24th.
About five days earlier on October 19th, the Moon, ruler of the sign of Cancer, will be in Taurus, the sign of its exaltation, conjunct Algol, and retrograde Uranus at 26°21’. Mars will be at 23°51’ of Cancer, approaching the sextile. Can you guess whose Saturn and Venus are at 23° and 25° of Cancer?
You got it, DJT, and he’s in a 7th house profection ruled by Saturn this year. And not to keep bringing him up, but as you know from my last forecast, I am somewhat obsessed with watching this play out now.
*Note* This doesn’t mean adverse incidents are pending for him; honestly, I think it could be a re-telling or reimagining of the event or perhaps piling on in a way to inspire folks or reinvigorate his campaign by recreating that fleeting moment of unification he espoused given the proximity to the election. Or maybe a new iconic opportunity for him to grab the spotlight. We’ll see it play out in real-time either way.
As an aside, I am super into Uranus because it has been moving between making a sextile to my ASC and conjunction with my chart ruler, and I am curious about what it is up to there. When Uranus came across my ASC about 15 years ago, I had a few shakeups that catapulted me into a new phase of life. I got yeeted into the next version of myself.
OK, let me get back on track…
Retrograde Pluto entered the sign of Capricorn at 5:08 PM PT on Sunday yesterday. This is the final boss level for those with late-degree Aries, Libra, Capricorn, and Cancer placements.
I have my Sun in the last degree of Libra, and every time I think about this square from retro Pluto in Cap, I keep hearing “The Final Countdown” by Europe from 1986 playing in my head. Is it a coincidence that the lyrics are about leaving Earth and going to Venus? I will let you decide. Indeed, it is the end of an era.
I know this forecast is a lot about me so far, but I think some of you are into that.
The Moon entered Virgo at 8:48 PM PT on Sunday.
Monday, September 2nd
Mercury in Leo made a lovely trine to retrograde Chiron in Aries at 22°56’ at 6:46 AM PT this morning, and I felt so much love for my life lessons and how they helped me develop the strengths I needed. And, after publishing details for SOVEREIGN, my flagship experimental offering, I felt inspired to return to writing astrology forecasts. Woohoo!
Tonight, the Moon in Virgo conjoins the Sun in Virgo at 11°04’, giving us the Virgo New Moon at 6:55 PM PT. I love the vibe of this lunation. We’ve got its ruler, Mercury, in courageous and heart-led Leo. There is a boldness in embracing themes of power coming from an unlocking or more profound understanding of our part in manifest reality and how it all works. It feels like that scene in The Matrix where Neo sees the fabric of space-time within the matrix in ones and zeros.
Inside this lunation is a feeling of alignment with something greater and a palpable knowledge of the power available in the unified self, where the Solar and the Shadow combine and join forces to accomplish something much more significant than we can comprehend now. For me, this shows up as trusting the wisdom and the truth in my personal desires to lead me where I ultimately want to go. It's more vibe than logic, but the logic is there, just under the surface, and my desire is easier to access at the moment.
Talking about desire concerning Virgo may seem strange to some, but I think it ties in perfectly with the creative intelligence and Eros available all around us in the living world. Think about the growth cycle of vegetation; its DNA contains ‘the program’ that drives it to do what it does. That is another form of the manifest desire of the Anima Mundi, or the world’s soul.
Anything undertaken in this lunation feels fortunate to me. It won’t be without its challenges, but they will be worth it. It may require internal resolve to continue moving forward and leave past hurts behind, such as facing a fear or breaking through an outdated belief. If this is you, accomplish this by focusing on what you are moving towards and maintaining self-compassion for you of the past. Mercury in Leo assists us in marrying both the head and the heart, so enchant your world with gratitude and watch it flourish.
Mars in Gemini makes a square to retrograde Neptune at 29°00’ at 9:09 PM PT. Here is that moment of friction, and we may finally feel ready or that it is time to decide on something we’ve waffled back and forth on for a while, but try and give yourself some space and grace to determine your final approach a bit later in the week; it is Neptune, after all.
Tuesday, September 3rd
The Moon in Virgo then opposes retrograde Saturn in Pisces at 16°23’ at 5:37 AM PT and then squares Jupiter in Gemini at 19°20’ at 11:34 AM PT. Here we find our emotions catalyze us forward in exploring what it will take to build the world we desire.
Later in the evening, we have Venus in Libra joining Ketu, the South Node, at 6°40’ and we may experience a cathartic release. Let it go with loving kindness. These relationships, values, and connections served a purpose even if it was only for a season.
Wednesday, September 4th
But we’re not finished with this lunation yet! At 3:36 AM PT, the Moon in Virgo trines retrograde Uranus in Taurus at 27°15’ and opposes retrograde Neptune in Pisces at 28°58’ at 7:05 AM PT. Giving our New Moon intentions an otherworldly power surge, and if you are engaging the more-than-human world, consider making an offering along with your petition.
Next, at 9 AM PT, Lady Luna squares Mars in Gemini at 29°54’ and six minutes later makes a trine to retrograde Pluto in Capricorn at 29°57’. So again, choices are to be made, but with the assistance of the Lord of the Underworld reminding us of everything we’ve been learning since 2008.
The Moon enters Libra at 9:11 AM PT.
Next, Mars enters Cancer at 12:46 PM PT. Mars will station retrograde on Dec. 6th, 2024, at 6°10’ of Leo and retrace its steps back until February 23, 2025, when it stations direct at 17°00’ of Cancer.
Mars is the warrior whose syncretized Orphic Hymn to the God Ares petitions him to use his power to serve the Goddess Demeter, symbolizing the Earth herself. Cancer is ruled by the changing face of the Moon, which is related to our inner emotional life and basic needs. So, collectively, we have an opportunity to contemplate and change how we respond to suffering—the suffering of others, the Earth, and ourselves.
If you have planets or points between 17° - 29° of Cancer, Aries, Libra, or Capricorn, you may want to pay attention to Mars over the next eight months as Mars will be coming into challenging contact with them. Mars will begin to travel over this part of your chart starting October 4th, so you may get a preview of any potential challenges or situations Mars is bringing to your awareness. It is a chance to notice your response to what’s coming up. The house in your birth chart can give you ideas of how this may land in your life and ways to express and work with its themes.
So, long story short, we have a lot of Mars in Cancer coming up. And that might be a good thing, depending on how you plan to engage with it.
I have some openings in September if you want to explore these transits with me. Book Sacred Signatures or Retuning Client Reading if applicable to you, and let me know on the form you want to talk about Mars. Use coupon code MARS for 22% off now through September 30th.
